Hybrid Corruption

born of divine and mortal bloodlines, continuously weakens natural and spiritual barriers while growing stronger from destruction

“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days — and also afterward — when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown” (Gen 6:4). Genesis gives two verses; 1 Enoch gives an apocalypse. The Watchers — two hundred angels led by Semyaza — descended on Mount Hermon, took human wives, and fathered the Nephilim: giants three hundred cubits tall whose appetite was insatiable. They devoured the produce of humanity, then began consuming the humans themselves, and finally drank blood. Their violence filled the earth with corruption so total that God sent the Flood to cleanse it. But the Nephilim’s spirits survived as disembodied demons (1 Enoch 15:8-12), condemned to wander the earth tormenting humanity until the final judgment. Every tradition of giants in Canaan — the Anakim, the Rephaim, the Emim — traces back to this original corruption. The Nephilim are the reason the world broke.
