Walk with God

Enoch exists in constant communion with the divine, gaining immunity to corruption and radiating celestial wisdom.

Seven generations from Adam. The Bible gives his life story in three verses, but his legacy spawned an entire literary tradition: 1 Enoch, 2 Enoch, and 3 Enoch. In Jewish mysticism (3 Enoch), he was transformed into the angel Metatron — the “Lesser YHWH” and the most powerful angel in the heavenly court. Jude 1:14 quotes “the Book of Enoch” — the only NT reference to pseudepigraphal material as prophecy. His “translation” (taken alive to heaven) made him the prototype for both Elijah and the Christian rapture concept.
