Tradition	Meaning
Christian/Catholic	The Holy Trinity. Triangle with the eye = God’s omniscient Triune nature
Jewish/Kabbalistic	Upward triangle = fire, masculine, aspiration toward God. Downward triangle = water, feminine, divine grace descending
Masonic	The delta (triangle) is “one of the most significant of all Masonic symbols” (Albert Mackey). Represents the Great Architect. The 47th Problem of Euclid produces a 3-4-5 right triangle
Esoteric	Upward triangle = spirit ascending. Downward = matter descending. Combined (hexagram) = “as above, so below”
