Aquatic Sovereignty

Marid commands absolute dominion over all waters and cannot be bound by mortal contracts or divine law

The Marid represent the strongest and most rebellious class of jinn. In Quran 27:39, when Solomon asked “Who among you can bring me the throne of the Queen of Sheba before they arrive here?” one of the jinn said “I will bring it to you before you finish your meal” — but a more powerful being (interpreted as a Marid or an angel) offered to do it instantly. Marid are associated with water and the sea, wielding power over vast domains. They are inherently rebellious against divine authority and difficult to control, even by the most powerful of human kings. The Marid embodies the untamable force of nature — immense, dangerous, and fundamentally opposed to constraint.
